Ian Lougher is a member of a small select group of motorcycle racers.

At the Adelaide Motorcycle Festival in the Kings Hall, Belfast, the Blackhorse Kawasaki team boss was one of just 15 riders to be presented with an Ulster Grand Prix '130 Club' medal by the Dundrod & District Motorcycle Club in recognition of lapping the Dundrod circuit at an average speed of over 130mph.

Ian's speed of 130.409mph was achieved during the Dundrod 150 Superbike race in 2009.

At last year's Ulster Grand Prix in August, Ian came very close to surpassing that mark when he circulated at 130.220mph in the opening Superstock race where he almost put the Blackhorse Kawasaki Superstock Ninja ZX-10R on the podium on his way to a hard fought fourth place.

The medals, in a specially engraved presentation box, were presented by seven times Ulster Grand Prix winner Ray McCullough on Friday's opening night of the three-day festival.
