Cock o' the North Road Races
Oliver's Mount
Scarborough

Ian Lougher added to his tally of wins at Oliver's Mount when he took the honours in the second leg of the 600cc event by some 8.8 seconds, indeed it could have been a double win but for a retirement in the first leg on Saturday whilst leading by a similar margin.

With the sun finally breaking through at Scarborough on Sunday, Michael Pearson got the hole-shot ahead of Ian and he led by 0.77secs from Lougher at the end of the first lap with Rob Wilson, Dean Harrison, Mark Lister and Adrian Archibald in pursuit.
Lap two and the gap was 0.472 of a second advantage to Pearson, but Lougher was chasing hard and by the third lap the gap was down to 0.17 of a second, with positions remaining the same.
Lougher hit the front at Drury's on the half distance lap and had a lead of 1.76 seconds going on to the fifth lap.
Remarkably at the end of the lap his lead was up to 5.78 seconds with Pearson safe in second.
Three-quarters distance and Lougher's advantage was nearly eight seconds and at the flag it was Ian by 8.8 seconds from Pearson with Robert Wilson third.

Ian's win in the 600cc race consolidated another good meeting for the Blackhorse Kawasaki manager/rider. On the first day he was 3rd in the 650 Supertwins race and on Sunday he was runner-up to Chris Palmer in the 2nd Leg of the 125's, and finished 5th in the feature Cock o' the North Superbike race riding the Ninja ZX-6R.
